Position Summary:

The Dismantle Tire Operator is responsible for removing tires from rims and preparing them for proper recycling or disposal. This role involves the use of specialized tools and machinery to safely dismantle used tires while maintaining an organized and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use manual and power tools to remove tires from steel or aluminum rims

  • Inspect tires and rims for reusable, recyclable, or hazardous materials

  • Sort tires and wheels by type, size, or condition for recycling or resale

  • Operate tire dismantling machines or hydraulic splitters when necessary

  • Ensure proper disposal of scrap rubber, metal, and debris

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

  • Report equipment issues or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately

  • Assist with general yard labor when required

  • Follow all safety protocols and wear proper PPE at all times

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Experience working in a recycling, tire shop, or automotive environment is a plus

  • Familiarity with tire dismantling tools and safety procedures

  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. and perform repetitive manual labor

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and tolerate varying weather conditions

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Work Schedule:

Full-time; must be available for flexible hours including weekends and overtime if needed
